Aims and scope
Pilot and Feasibility Studies encompasses all aspects of the design, conduct and reporting of pilot and feasibility studies in biomedicine. The journal publishes research articles that are intended to directly influence future clinical trials or large scale observational studies, as well as protocols, commentaries and methodology articles. The journal also ensures that the results of all well-conducted, peer-reviewed, pilot and feasibility studies are published, regardless of outcome or significance of findings.

We are pleased to announce the thematic series Implementation Science and Practice has been published. Guest edited by Professor PJ Naylor (University of Victoria, Canada) and Associate Professor Maureen C Ashe (The University of British Columbia, Canada), this series will include articles that help define and explore pilot or feasibility studies within implementation research.

About the Editors
Stephen Bremner, Editor in Chief
Stephen Bremner is Professor of Medical Statistics in the Department of Primary Care and Public Health at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School, UK, and lead statistician at the Brighton and Sussex Clinical Trials Unit. His principal research interests centre on the design and analysis of pragmatic randomised controlled trials of complex interventions in community healthcare settings. He has worked on epidemiological research studies and randomised trials across diverse designs and specialties and has led the statistical and data analysis aspects of numerous pilot and feasibility studies. Stephen has also served on grant funding panels, trial oversight committees and as a peer reviewer for a wide range of journals and funders.
Lawrence Mbuagbaw, Editor in Chief
Dr. Lawrence Mbuagbaw (MD, MPH, PhD) is a Research Methods Scientist, Epidemiologist, and Director of the Research Methodology Centre at the Research Institute of St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton, where he supports study design, data analysis, and reporting. He is an Associate Professor at McMaster University, where he teaches biostatistics and randomized trials, and Associate Professor Extraordinary of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Stellenbosch University. As principal investigator on numerous projects—including evidence syntheses, randomized trials, mixed-methods, and qualitative studies—he has authored over 350 peer-reviewed publications and technical reports. His research focuses on improving the design, analysis, and reporting of clinical research, with a particular interest in pilot and feasibility studies. He has served with Pilot and Feasibility Studies for over 10 years as Associate Editor and Senior Editor.
